Presentation slide does not show graphics visible in 'Normal'

I have prepared a large presentation, and I find that everything looks
okay, except when I view it as 'slide show'. Then all images are gone. The
same applies to conversion to PDF. There is no more image at all, neither.

Since I need to show it in a few days, I wonder what I could do? I have
already tried to create a new presentation, and import the earlier one, but
the result is the same. I have created a presentation from scratch, copied
one of the slides from the earlier one, and still, this slide copied into
the new presentation shows okay in Libreoffice; but void of the graphics in
'Slide Show' and void of any graphics in PDF.

Hello!

I have prepared a large presentation, and I find that everything looks

at all, neither.

Isn't your graphics in EPS format? Your problem is very similar to
what I had some time ago with EPS files, so if it is, I'd suggest you to
convert it to PNG, since the problems with vector graphics in latest
releases of LO Impress are frequent (see, for example, this bug:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62038 ), but there are
usually no problems with PNG.

"Solved" or better: explained:
I did it all on my netbook, with 2 GB of RAM, and yet, it seems
insufficient to display images added. They are simply scrapped, and they
are scrapped when converting into PDF. The same file shows on another
system without fail as complete slide.
I tried starting Libreoffice after a fresh reboot with nothing else active.
So I guess that the problem is not memory but display size.
I tried another display, by the way, with the same result. What is still
bad, is that it drops the images silently in both cases (Slide Show and
PDF-conversion).
What I'd expect Libreoffice to do, is to inform me should anything go wrong.

Kind regards,

Uwe

Have you tried...

*Presentation Minimizer*: the Presentation Minimizer extension reduces the file size of the current presentation. Images get compressed and unnecessary data is removed. Image quality size can be minimized. Screen and projector presentations don't require the same quality as presentations intended for printing, and can be optimized. Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) objects are useful during the design phase, but can be twice the size of a regular image. Presentation Minimizer can replace OLE objects with images, with no quality loss. In addition to reducing file size, Presentation Minimizer can remove speaker notes and hidden slides so that you don't accidentally publish confidential information. The wizard summarizes all changes to be made to the presentation, and estimates the file size saving. Presentation Minimizer also works on Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

...on low memory machine?

Hi :)
You might be suffering from an extremely rare and intermittent bug so it would be great if you could post a bug-report about it and let them know what you have tried already that didn't work
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport
You might find a few duplicates and 1 might match your case more closely than any of the others.  if so please try to add to that instead of creating a fresh new thread.

Most of the time if this bug does ever surface then it seems to happen if you have "Auto-backup" or "Auto-save type features on.  if you switch them off the bug vanishes
Tools - Options - Load/Save - General
and untick options such as "Always create back-up copy".

I think it's been about a year since we last saw anyone suffering with this bug so it's not an easy one to pin down and fix!  Most people using the back-up and auto-saving options are completely fine however much they try to set-up things to reproduce the problem.  You might even find that if you switch the options off and then next week switch them back on again that you also find it tough to lose images.
