Printer error in 4.2.3

Since I upgraded to LO 4.2.3 last week, I get an error when trying to
print any file, or every other file - it varies.

The file prints without any trouble, but I get this window on the
first document I print:

Could not start printer.
Please check your configuration.

The file prints anyway, but the error window is really annoying.

Suggestions welcome.

Hi
Given how e3xperienced you are and how long you have been on the mailing
list i would say just post a bug-report (or wait until the competition
starts and post it then)

Temporarily go bacmk to a previous version that doesn't have the problem
(or install that other version in parallel or something)

Tom, can you, when writing your kind advice for the people here to
report a bug, pls also suggest that they look for possible existing bugs
for the problem

In this specific case for example I've seen this one yesterday

Thanks & regards,

Hi
Sure, but that is covered by one of the first items in the wiki-guide
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport
and is handled really well there.

Confirm that it really is a bug.
[it gives help on how to do so]

Check for similar, existing bug reports ("duplicates").
[it gives quite a bit of help on how to do so]

If you find a bug report that concerns your problem, you can contribute to
it.

If you don't find a bug report that concerns your problem, file a new bug
report.

If the bug occurs on only Ubuntu or is related to printing, go to More
Information.

The "More Information" is a clickable link to

Thanks, gents. My only excuse is that it has been so long since I
found an LO bug I forgot to look.

I have commented on the bug.

Thanks for pointing, and yes I do know that.
But looking at the number of duplicates and the hard work that the many
QA-volunteers do, it's a topic that can't be over-estimated, IMHO

So every change to promote the mindset "check before submit" is one to
take .. ?

Kind regards,

Hi
Ahh, cool, ok

I noticed someone posted to point out an existing duplicate that he or
someone else had already marked as duplicate by the time i clicked on the
link. Good work there!

This bug-hunt might hopefully recruit a few more people when they realise
how easy it is. Most of us probably assume that it's all a lot more
complicated than it turns out to be. Having a short, time-limited drive
makes a lot of sense. Perhaps a future one might focus on finding
duplicates just as the last session had a different focus from this one.

I will try to mention about searching for duplicates before posting in the
future. I didn't realise it happened so often.
Apols, thanks, good luck and regards from
