I am using Libre Office on an iMac System 10.6.5
My Printer is a Canon Pixma 4700

When I want to print the Apple menus do not appear so I cannot select
Automatic Duplex Printing which reverses each sheet of paper to print the
next page.
This option does appear to be available in the Libre Office Print menu.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hi Tink:

When I print on my Mac, the option for duplex printing appears on the Apple printing menu, _after_ I select File/Print. It calls it Two-sided, and not duplex, but it does the same thing.

Use the Mac print dialogues instead of the LibreOffice dialogues. Set in Prefences:
LibreOffice/Preferences/LibreOffice/General. Under 'Print Dialogs' uncheck 'Use LibreOffice dialogs'

If problem is occurs when using icon in toolbar, use File/Print instead.
Or make sure the icon in the toolbar is for 'Print', not for 'Print File Directly' which bypasses the print dialogue.

When I go to File > Print I get the same LibO menu as I do when I use
Command P
The Tabs offered are: General, LibO Writer, Page Layout and Options.
Where under these should I find: Two sided?

Documents are always two sided. It's up to your printer to use duplex. If you use LibO dialog, it should be in "printer properties" on the "General" tab. (At least for Windows)

My fault, Tink. I didn't know that one could bypass the Apple dialog. Larry Gusaas message clears that up. You can apparently decide what /File/Print does - go direct to printing or go to the Apple dialog. I think you need to send it to the dialog. But you'll have to wait for Larry to explain how you do that, since I have mine going to the Apple dialog by default.

LibO dialogue.

Printer properties have never been accessible in OOo 3 on a Mac when using the OOo (or LibO) print dialogue.

How are you determining that? It's my understand that all must be

Sorry. I see now that you're posting via the forum. These posts go to the moderators for approval, before they go out to the mailing list, and yours was handled by me.

My comment was for the list, and I didn't at that time realise that you had posted directly in the forum. Now I'm aware of that. I'll pay more attention to the source of the message in future. Hitherto all I've done is to check that the subject matter is relevant to the list.
