Problem when copying to another sheet

I Have a problem working on few sheets .

On 1 sheet i have graphics ( photos ) . When I copy all sheet to another document photos are all stretched Up or in a diffrent place .
How can I set it Up to show it for a client in correct place ?

Sincirlly .

Hi :slight_smile:
Which format are you saving the file in? It sounds like the file
might be in an MS format such as XlsX. The older MS format, Xls,
usually works well but it's best to keep originals in native ODF
formats such as Ods.

Hi :slight_smile:
Sorry about the hasty response yday! I'm not really familiar with
this sort of thing happening so i was just trying to find out some of
the parameters and making guesses as to what might be causing it.

I have noticed that images in the newer MS formats tend to rearrange
their placement of photos/images depending on which machine, which
version of MS Office but they are usually fairly consistent when
opened in different versions of LIbreOffice. However, that is usually
about positioning, i've not noticed reshaping or warping of images
before! So i was just trying to find out something about the systems
you are using in the hope that someone on the mailing list might have
a better idea of what causes reshaping!

Hi :slight_smile:
I got an email off-list and warped the data in the images just in case it's
confidential. It gave me a chance to try out some of the weird filter
effects in Gimps defaults.

The op's problem is that the images inside the spreadsheet got displaced
when he copied the worksheet to another file, as you can hopefully see below
...

Hi Tom.
I was trying in ODS format file. These are results :

1st : Original Sheet.

1-orig-sheet-v1.jpg
<http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n4090929/1-orig-sheet-v1.jpg>

2nd: Copied Sheet to another file by menu : copy, new document (like so);

2-Copied-Sheet-to-another-file
<http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n4090929/2-Copied-Sheet-to-another-file>

and this is result :

3-resulting-sheets-images-misplaced-v1.jpg
<http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n4090929/3-resulting-sheets-images-misplaced-v1.jpg>

Placement of images is terrible. All images were anchored to their cells.

I think a couple of people have reported similar issues over the Xmas period
so i wondered if anyone has a way of stopping it from happening or knows of
a bug-report about the issue?

Have you tried copying through right-click on the sheet tab: Move/Copy Sheet?
Miguel Ángel.

Hi :slight_smile: :slight_smile:
Thanks :slight_smile: I don't know. Hopefully the op might let us know. I've
not tried replicating the problem on my own system

Hi :slight_smile:
Hmm, i just tried this myself using all 3 main image types that i use;
jpg, png and gif and both XlsX and Ods file-types and couldn't
replicate the problem at all.

I was hoping that it might turn out to be something simple such as
Jpgs in XlsX but i couldn't find any problems with any of them. Maybe
it's if the document started off being written in one of the MS
formats in MS Office, or maybe it only happens in LibreOffice on
Windows.

LibreOffice 3.5.7 on Ubuntu 12.04
