probs merging .po and .pot

Hi all,

Probs with merging and uncertain how to continue..

Merging the <lang>.po and .pot from
   http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/build/tree/po
according to info here
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/LibreOffice/i18n/translating_3.3

$ msgmerge -U --previous lo-build-nl.po lo-build.pot
   results in many unknown keywords
$ msgmerge: 22214 fatal errors found

the other method:
$ pot2po -t lo-build-nl.po -i lo-build.pot -o new.tmp
processing 1 files...
[###########################################] 100%
in a millisecond ..

opening in Poedit shows an empty workspace.
Opening in GTranslator gives one error message at the start (unknown keyword 'html') but does show old translated and new untranslated content.

Is it safe to work in Gtranslator with this file ??

Are you sure you have download the plain texte file and not the html version?

Rightclick - save as > html ?#$#$@

OK, should the pot-file start with
#. extracted from (input file name not known)

and the po-file with
# translation of ooo-build.nl.po to Dutch

Than I'll copypaste from my browser

right click on the (plain) link at the top to save the file in plain text.
Same for the pot, click on this link
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/build/tree/po/lo-build.pot
then right click on the (plain) link.

For download lo-build.pot use this:
wget http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/build/plain/po/lo-build.pot

I get the same error as yours, seems the file is corrupted. At least,
strange lines are commented like :

msgid ""

msgstr ""
"Maak in enkele seconden perfecte documenten aan met documentsjablonen. "
"Gewone sjablonen bevatten taalonafhankelijke sjablonen"

I'll try to convert the .sdf to po then merge again and keep you update

The latest POT file has 334 messages (1420 words) for translation.

The new generated and corrected file has been pushed in the source by
Cedric, you can retrieved in from there now :slight_smile:

Thanks for the help. I got contact with Freek de Kruijf who did previous translations for openSuse and he was so kind to translate these strings as well.

I forwarded the .po to kami for integration.
