Proposed Drupal Frontpage and Genral pages theme -- Drupal Web. Dev. Team

The Drupal Website Development Team (http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Website/Drupal#Drupal_Website_Development_Team:) has been hard at work for the last several days at completing the design of a proposed Drupal website Frontpage and theme. I would like to offer thanks to all of the Web Dev. team for the hard "behind the scene work" at getting this proposal out to the website membership.Special thanks go to Carlos for his artwork and design suggestions.

We have put these up on the wiki for you to see and discuss. We need comments on both the Frontpage and general pages theme. Feel free to question. We are hard at work getting the site ready for early 2011.

Here are the links to the Frontpage and General pages view in .png formats and the IA (Information Architecture) and Theme changelog are in .odt. ... ahem for use with your LibreOffice 3.3 distro.

Feel free to comment on the website mailist. If you leave comments here, I will try to answer as best as I can.

Cheers

I use Joomla! for other sites, I'm wondering if I could give a hand also for
that.

Hi Valter:

We are using Drupal CMS for the next TDF/LibreOffice website, but, yes, if you are interested. You can join the Drupal Development Team by adding your name here: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Website/Drupal#Drupal_Website_Development_Team: . You can also volunteer to help out with some parts of the project here (you can even put your name in where someone else has already to team up): http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Website/Drupal_Strategy

Just read through the Drupal wiki and see if anything interests you.

Let me know if you need more information.

Cheers

Marc

Hi *,

please see my reply on the website list - but to mention it here as well:

I'd like to remind all that the website is still lacking content. Time
is passing by and only a handful of people are actually putting up
content to the site.

I'm puzzled as to how this is. If you need/want/miss anything - tell me.

To put it more clearly: The content on
http://test.libreoffice.org/

is what the user will get when the site goes live. There is no
additional content up on our sleeves or something like that.
We'd hide the placeholder pages of course, so there would be even less
content. So again the plead for help:

Provide some content for the site please.
It doesn't need to be perfect (people area always better at pointing
out mistakes/making small improvements than to start with something
new themselves).
It doesn't need to be a long essay.

If you want to create a "fancy" front page, please do and provide your
page along with the css you used in whatever tool you're familiar with
I'll take care of adapting it/putting it up to silverstripe.
Don't feel restricted by the present style on the page. You can add
whatever you want. If it can be done with css (and also javascript,
but then please also provide a graceful fallback for those without it)
can be done with silverstripe (or later with drupal).

ciao
Christian
