Slovenian: not aware, but somewhat also running short on manpower, so
only basic tests could be done in the near future.

Can I add "Other reasons"?
I did a lot of testing for our first release. Since that is now fairly stable and since I use LO frequently and given time constraints, my view is that any translation related issues are unlikely to cause a massive mess and, with the quicker release schedule LO has, can be fixed in a reasonable amount of time. If there was a totally new feature, say a DTP module, then I'd test before releasing.

Second, I can obviously install a RC but beyond that, I don't have the technical skills to to any "fancy stuff".

Yes (including alpha/beta when they are made available), but only to check
how/if the translated strings fit, etc, or to see how something works to
know how to translate it. When bigger changes occur in the Windows
installer, I play around with that a bit in VirtualBox to see if anything
is broken/not translated/unfitting/etc.

No.

No.

- You are not doing any tests

       . because you don't have the manpower to run them

I'd rather say I don't find testing the localized build very necessary,
apart from what I'm already doing.

This plays no part for me.

I am aware that there are tests, but I haven't really taken a closer look
at them.

Yes. Also betas. Tests consist of normal use of LibreOffice with random documents, and a quick glance at the interface.

We are a small team and it's not likely we can improve our testing unless it's really easy to do it "on the fly". I mean, It would be fine if we can tell an occasional tester "open this URL in your browser, do what it says and you're done in 30 minutes". Easy to say, but hard to code, I know :slight_smile:

Not really doing any tests, apart from checking if the translations
are correct, or as a side-effect of trying various functions when
searching where the hell* is that stupid string that can be translated
several different ways in my language. So I'm really testing only the
functionality I need to check during translation.
I'm only checking the beta and RC releases, main reason is lack of
time and not enough knowledge to do my own test builds, not to mention
the difficulty to make compiling work on Windows. I'm not aware about
any existing testing infrastructure.

* On this note, it would be great if there was a file listing all the
dialogs (and how to get them displayed) with string IDs that are used
on each particular dialog.

yes

    . using Litmus?

No. Although I wrote/translated some of the test in the past, I found
the tool quite confusing and hard to use. Perhaps it just me, but to run
the litmus test on every beta and rc was a bit overhelming for my little
spare time, mostly because the release schedule is very tight.

- Are you running other types of tests
    .which one?

I test installation and some basic functions on subjects I am concerned.
I use to look for the recently translated strings, but I have no method.

- You are not doing any tests
    . because you're not interested
    . because you don't have the manpower to run them
    . because they are not adapted to your language
    . because you're not aware of any test

All of them... But I'll take "not interested" out and add "boring task/tool"

Yes. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Encourage others from our group to do some testing, with varying success.

Sometimes - not much.

I think there is much truth in that: people from l10n teams do not have many reasons to test the suite just because of l10n.

Testing in everyday use + checking for localization errors.

Lack of manpower means we don't test every release and all of the testing we
do tends to be mostly uncoordinated.

Yes, specific features that is important for me, at the moment of testing.

It can be Beta or even daily snapshots.

No, I've looked at it briefly but it was a bit confusing. Since I don't even have the time to test the features

Exactly. I must concentrate my efforts in adequation of interface,
advance translation/adaptation in website, spellchecker, plugins,
instalators, news, difussion over my community, etc.
