Does anyone know of a way to save a Writer document as plain text and *keep* footnotes?

It's messy, but:
o Export as PDF.
o Open PDF in reader of choice and save as text from there.

I trust this helps.

Thanks, Brian. That does work. And, yes, it is a little messy, by only mildly so (at least for my tastes).
