Search themes for Personas / Personalization, translate .. or not .. (bug 87597)

Hi all,

I was looking to this bug
  https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87597

Choose Tools - Options - Personalization - Own Theme.
The suggestions there
pxhJi Abstract | BDTdC Color | GjKFW Music | kCoME Nature
are translated so there's little to find when I use the Dutch UI

Now it's simple to change that for Dutch, but there are two more options:
- make the words non localizable,
- search for the original term, independent of the localization

I would appreciate opinions on this.

Thanks a lot,
Cor

We (Japanese localization team) faced the same issue and we decide
NOT to localize them (sorry to share the issue).
This dialog has free input field to use localized search word, so I vote
the first choice.

Best,

Hi Naruhiko, *

the first choice.

Sound logic to me. Thanks!

I'll wait a little for possible other ideas and then probably see to get
it done.

Cheers,
Cor

Hi,

I think the labels should be translated (to have UI translated consistently) and the original terms should be searched (that's why I filled the bug:). On the other hand, I agree that a user can be confused if he gets meaningful results using the translated labels, but no results for translated own search.

One more point - it seems that capitalization matters and capitalized keyword (the current state) gets substantially less results.

Best regards,
Stanislav
