Oops--I left out a key part of the query: The problem is selecting and copying the content of a popup comment in an LO Calc cell.

Hi Eric,

right click in cell > Edit Comment. Then mark and copy the text as usual. Click somewhere else to leave edit mode.

I don't get an "edit cell" option. But double left click on the opened comment turns out to get me past the drag handles to edit mode.
Don't know why I didn't try the double clicking earlier. That's what works in Draw. Somehow it didn't occur to me.
