Some questions about Pootle

Hi,
We are rather busy translating 5.0 and we have some questions about the
functionality in the new version:

1) Empty filters
On the first overview page ( https://translations.documentfoundation.org/da/
) we mostly use the columns with numbers to navigate to the next string to
work on. But there is one mysterious thing: in "LibreOffice master – UI" we
see 505 incomplete. But when we click on the number; the result is "No
results" (
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/da/libo_ui/translate/#filter=incomplete
). Most filters for this project shows the same "No results". See
"#filter=untranslated" and "#filter=fuzz". The filter "#filter=suggestions"
seems to work.
All filters seems to work for the other projects too.

What is the reason for not finding any content of the filter when the
number in the overview says 505?

2) Local administration
I am the administrator for Danish (da). My user profile:
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/user/lodahl/
How do I get to the area where I can add and adjust user credentials?
I also need to change the "Language instructions". The text seems to be
outdated. Where can I edit the text?

3) Statistics
There seems to be quite some interesting statistics but is it possible to
get kind of an overview of users for a project? So far I have only found
statistics for each individual user.

Seems you catch a bug, I'll try to ping Dwayne on Pootle irc if he can
have a look. I'll keep you informed.

Now its when you open a project in a panel on the right.

ah, that explains why I don't have it, I never used it as I was alone
and it doesn't appear in French in the new UI.

I'll have to ask Dwayne, I didn't find where it can be edited either.

Just speculation, but might be that those were done by a user that was
deleted in the meantime or by a bot/file-upload, ...

But you cannot adjust user credentials - that is full-admin only.

Those are static content/announcements now. Danish one would be
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/admin/pages/announcements/4

but I don't think permissions allow editing that yet by non-admins..

3) Statistics

statistics for each individual user.

Statistics is a work-in-progress area - so far there's no overall
statistic, just the very limited this month's top contributors and
individual stats.

Is version 5.0 == LibreOffice master,
or is there another path to v. 5.0 not listed in "All Projects"?

No, master is not 5.0

5.0 branch is going to be created. And AFAIK there will be some changes.
But in the meantime if you work on master, your translations will be in 5.0
final.

Is this correct Christian?

Thank you to you and Martin.
I think I continue working on master hoping it will be converted to 5.0. :slight_smile:
Btw: I likes the new Pootle as I am getting used to it.

Yes and no. When it comes to pootle at the moment, master can be
considered the 5-0 project

5.0 branch is going to be created.

more precise: 5.0.0 branch (5.0 already exists)

And AFAIK there will be some changes.
But in the meantime if you work on master, your translations will be in 5.0
final.

Yes, that's correct.

Once 5.0 is out, I'll create separate 5-0 projects, and master will
then be used for 5.1
I don't think it makes sense to split off the projects before 5.0 is
out, as there won't be automatic merges from the versioned projects to
the master one.
