Hello,
Is there a possibility for vertical/horizontal splitting views in LO? KDE's text editor kate
a window can be split both ways, allowing either the same of different files to be edited in parallel.
For example, I would like this capability when translating text from one language to another in
Writer.

While I don't know about split windows, there's nothing to stop you from
opening multiple Windows with the same or other file.

Unfortunately, it's not possible:

You can use the Translation Table extension, which is not splitting the
screen (according to your request) but is creating a table where on the
left column you have the original text and in the right column you can
add the translated text.
