stable vs new features :) (again) Re: [libreoffice-l10n] [ANN] LIbreOffice 4.2.0 RC1 available

Hi
So, at last there is a new branch full of exciting or interesting new
features! :)) (just in time for Xmas) Of course adding new stuff
could mean increasing the potential for unexpected side-effects but
most people will find no troubles, and plenty of benefit, to using the
new branch even at this early stage.

For a lot of us it would be good to test-drive on 1 machine and try to
find something to grumble about in (a) bug-report(s) before rolling
out (maybe a future version of) the branch.

LO & AOO are written to be highly secure against malware anyway so
there are unlikely to be any security issues that anyone would have
wanted to deal with. So we don't need to upgrade swiftly, it's just
nice to get those extra features sometimes.

Most of us will be sticking with later releases in older branches to
avoid having any worries about potential new issues.

As a (possibly bad) example i've quite a few machines on 3.5.7 (on the
Ubuntu side of dual-boot machines) and 4.0.5 on the Windows side. On
my own (well, the work's one i usually use) i have the 4.1.2 which is
a little early in the cycle but has turned out to be very stable
anyway. This is the machine i hope to upgrade to the 4.2.0 but only
after the last couple of edits to polish-off 'my' company newsletter.
