style panel on the right "crashes"

Good evening
I just discovered something. Since I never did this before, I do not know, whether the problem is old or new.

1) Open document. existing or empty - it does not matter
2) click F11 to open the style/navigator etc. panel on the right
3) I pointed the cursor on the double line separating the panel from the text area and tried to drag it a little to the left
4) with the cursor on said double line, the cursor assumes the shape of a double line with arrows pointing in opposite directions
5) this operation then starts very fast and wild flickering mainly of the panel, but also the text area
and the cursor remains forever in the shape of a double line with arrows pointing in opposite directions

The ONLY way of stopping this is Ctrl+Alt+Del -> Task manager -> force quite Libreoffice.

THAT cannot be normal.
Is there a way to avoid this behavior. It is obviously VERY disruptive!

Thank you
Thomas

This works fine for me, no unexpected behavior.
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 64-bit, LibreOffice Version: 5.2.0.4.

Hello,
I have version 5.1.4.2 (default renderer) installed on Fedora 22 (Linux
4.4) running on a i5-4570T @ 2.90GHz . If I continuously resize the
right pane very slowly (click then drag to the left without stopping),
the content of the pane goes grey for about half a second then the
style list is presented again, then it goes grey, then comes back, etc.
At one point, the panel remains grey without the borders moving for a
few seconds (even though the mouse cursor has moved a few centimeters
on the screen) then it gets redrawn at the correct size. I do not get
this behaviour with the other panes (Properties, Gallery, Navigator)
though there is some light flickering when the buttons are redrawn
after resize. However, I do not need to kill the LibreOffice process to
get out of this.
I hope this helps.

It qorks ok for me (cannot reproduce the problem) with LO 5.2.0.4
64-bit, Windows 10 64-bit

Hi Thomas:

What version of LO are you using? I also had the problem you were referring
to (I'm running Linux), but it was fixed in Version: 5.1.3.2, as I reported
when filing Bug 99829
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99829).

As usual, that "fix" also introduced another bug, but that too was fixed in
the subsequent release. I'm now running LO Version: 5.1.5.2 and have no more
issues with the sidebar.
