unknown characters (for me) in some translatable strings

Hi,

In several strings like this one
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/fr/libo_help/translate/swriter/guide.po#unit=79129085

there is characters between "</item>" and "and click the <item"
What are these characters ?
Are they wanted here ? It seems they have no effect in the online help

Those are spaces (underlined with red waves). You can ignore excessive
amount of spaces in help.

Empty spaces.

You can safely ignore them

Ah ok, thank you. The underlining red waves look different from the ones
use by the spellchecker in Firefox.
