Update from 3.3.1-rc-2 to 3.3.1

I have updated but in window LO-info is still the same: 3.3.1.2 / build 8

Is this OK?

Yes.
"This release is bit-for-bit identical to the 3.3.1 Release Candidate
2, so you don't need to download or reinstall if you have that version
already."

Thanks, but in my opinion the version number should be changed......
(even if its the ONLY change)

The latest version (on Windows) shows:
LibreOffice 3.3.1
OOO330m19 (Build:8)
tag libreoffice-3.3.1.2

Hi,

(..)
I repeat my request sent to the website list on the 16th...

"This is something that has always bugged me no end...

The 'Help > About LibreOffice' dialog shows something like:

LibreOffice 3.3.0
OOO330m19 (Build:6)
tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4

Would it please be possible to make it a formal policy that this very
same identification be provided on the download pages (for both release
and pre-release) versions?

This makes it easy to know which version I am running... I currently
don't know if the above is 3.3.1rc1 or not... I think it is, but... how
to be sure?"

Thanks,

Idem, for me on debian squeeze x64

Unfortunately, this also includes the minor detail that the downloaded
tarball, at least for 64 bit deb packages, still has the same
directory name as rc2, so manual intervention is required to do the
install (i.e., that script I posted some time back won't work with
this release because the tarball's name does not match the untarred
directory).

Is a little consistency in the releases too much to ask?

I couldn't agree more, Marcus.

In fact the About box should also mention RC1, RC2, etc

It should be easy to find out if the version you are using is the same
available on the downloads page...

Thanks, but what I would like is to see this precise info *on* *the*
*download* *page*.

i agree that this info is missing

But i also have a question about the additional info ("OOO330m19
(Build:8) / tag libreoffice-3.3.1.2 ")

What use are they to a common user? and why are they presented in the
info screen?

Would a simple "LibreOffice 3.3.1", or "LibreOffice 3.3.1-rc2" be much
clearer?

Agreed, although I can see the rationale for something like:

"LibreOffice 3.3.1 (OOO330m19, Build:8)"

only if "OOO330m19" does mean something, and this has not changed since
the first version of LibO
and for "Build:x" there should be a reference in the download list (as
mentiond before....)

Perhaps you know, that 3.3.1-rc2 is identical to 3.3.1 (final). And I
think this is the reason, that all (files, sizes ...) are the same.
And if both versions are the same, why should they compile and package
all packages for all architetures again only for changing ONE number?
