Upgrading Livre 3.4 to 3.5 / windows 7

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade Libre office 3.4 to 3.5 on windows 7, but this fails.
I get a warning that Libre should not run (it doesn't) and that the quickstart should be stopped.
I can't find any quickstart in the processes, in the startup, nor in the running programs, so I am a bit stumped.

Does anyone have a clue what might be amiss here?

Thank you.
Paul

Hi
I would stick with the 3.4 until 3.5.1 is released.  There seems to have been a few problems with the 3.5.0 release this week.  On the other hand to make sure the problem gets fixed it might be worth posting a bug-report about it!

Thanks for the notice. Yesterday I upgraded my Linux install, which went fine.
I'll keep an eye on 3.5.1. and if the problem still is there with that I'll file a bugreport.

Have you tried to uninstall 3.4.x (and perhaps restart Windows) *before* installing 3.5.0?

Keep the Tom's suggest to wait the 3.5.1 or 3.5.2 if you are not a power user.

Have a nice day,

Carlo

Bon giorno Carlo,

I have thought of that as well, but had not taken time to do that.

Keep the Tom's suggest to wait the 3.5.1 or 3.5.2 if you are not a power user.

I did beta-testing for older OO-versions, I'm not afraid. I'll wait for 3.5.1. though.
Thank you!

...

I just attempted to replicate your issue on Win7 (64bit Home Premium):

o Upgraded from 3.3.4 to 3.4.4
o Upgraded from 3.4.4 to 3.4.5
o Upgraded from 3.4.5 to 3.5.0

No issues with either of those.

Are you sure that you don't have a quickstart process running? Check
your task manager.

Very sure. As I wrote:

"I can't find any quickstart in the processes, in the startup, nor in the
running programs"

Processes and running programs are part of the task manager. i also don't see a quickstart icon in the system tray, that's odd.
I'll uninstall 3.4 before putting on 3.5.1 (waiting for that, as suggested by Tom).

Thank you for the mail.

Paul

No OOo running ?

Best regards.

The upgrade from LO 3.4 to 3.5 is work only when your have installed 3.4.5, if you have later version, you need to uninstall 3.4.x before install 3.5.

No, I uninstalled that right before going to L.O.

And to Nagy Akos:
I will certainly do that (uninstall 3.4.x before the upgrade). I'll wait for 3.5.1. to come out though.

Thanks, everyone!

Which version 3.4.x exactly ? I do not find it in this thread.

Did you read that : http://www.libreoffice.org/download/release-notes/ ?
Third note :
For Windows users that have LibreOffice prior to version 3.4.5
installed, either uninstall that beforehand, or upgrade to 3.4.5.
Otherwise, the upgrade to 3.5.0 may fail.

I installed 3.5 over 3.4.5 with no problems, even having OpenOffice.org installed. And I did quite extensive testing after.

3.4.0.

I experienced it first hand! :-)))

Hi,
No problem here. I am running Win7 professional SP1 and have upgraded to
3.5.0 without any issues.

However, I still have the same issue of not being able to use the local help
pack. It appears to install but I directed to the online help. This is the
same as 3.4.5.

Hi
The help files included are getting increasingly less useful as everything else moves forwards.  The official documentation is far far better.

Don't worry that you are missing the help files
