using/printing of non-std paper formats

Hello,
(5.4.5.1,GNU/Linux,cups) I want to use paper formats, which are
not predefined in LibreOffice (8x12 and different custom labels
(autocutting device)).
I can set the page dimensions manually (e.g. in Writer), but no way to
use the corresponding (in ppd defined) paper formats in the printer
settings dialog. So the result is never correct.
I already tried to set all configs "...FromPrinterSetup" to true, but
no success.
Any Ideas... web searched a lot, but could not find any usable
information.

No idea regarding the question (never print myself) but two general suggestions: try Draw for non-standard pages (depending on what you want to do), ask at the "official channel" https://ask.libreoffice.org/, and if all not helps file a ticket https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport

Enabled "Use only paper size from printer preferences" in tab "Options" in Print-dialog and set the correct paper size in your printer settings.

Does the preview of the Print-dialog show the desired paper size then?

Sometimes the printer itself is the problem, so you should mention which printer do you use.

If nothing helps, try a two step printing: First export to pdf, then print that pdf-document.

This mailing list is suitable. Or "Ask" as Heiko mentioned. Or the forum https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/. Despite of the URL "openoffice.org" it is for "User community support forum for Apache OpenOffice, LibreOffice and all the OpenOffice.org derivatives".

The set of people who answer on these channels have little overlap.

Because you are working on Linux and Linux is a little bit special in regard to printing you might get help in the community of your Linux distribution as well.

You may make your own version of a CUPS driver.

See: CUPS PPD Extensions at https://www.cups.org/doc/spec-ppd.html

It is a challenge, but can be done.
