Vertical Ruler

In Writer, I have somehow lost the vertical ruler, but I have the top horizontal ruler. I have been unable to find a way to turn it on. Any help is appreciated.

Ubuntu, 15.10. LibreOffice Version: 5.0.2.2, Build ID: 00m0(Build:2)
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

@Joe, *

Not lost, just set to not show by design.

Simple to activate if you prefer.

Writer: Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice Writer -> View: panel; check-box
for "Vertical ruler" and combo box for units.

Stuart

Thanks for your speedy reply.

Unfortunately, the check box at Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice Writer -> View: panel; check-box for "Vertical ruler" and combo box for units seems to have no effect.

I have no vertical rulers whether or not the check box is checked. I suspect this is a regression bug.

Thanks again.
Joe

Works fine for me (LO 5.0.3.2 on OS X El Capitan)

Perhaps I failed to mention that I use a 64-bit machine. Jomal: is your OS 64-bit?
Joe

@Joe, *

No regression, it works correctly on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Version: 5.1.0.2 (x64)
Build ID: ecd3574d51754b043f865cf5bafee286d24db7cc
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: GL;

Clear your user profile (or copy it if you have much effort invested in
macros).
That is located by default per user in %APPDATA%\LibreOffice; e.g.
C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice.

Just delete the folder (or rename it to hang on to anything).

A new profile will be generated on next LibreOffice launch. Should be able
to set your vertical ruler on again at that point.

Stuart

Thanks for the suggestion. However, Ubuntu and Windows have very little in common. The path to my users profile is nothing like a windows path.

Blessings, Joe

In Ubuntu, the user profile should be in a folder at "Home/.config/libreoffice/5"

By default, Ubuntu's File Manager doesn't display the hidden folders such as ".config" so you may need to go to "View -> Show Hidden Files" to make them visible.

Virgil

After renaming my profile, the new one created does display the vertical ruler.
Thanks to all of you who helped.
