I hve been using LODev 5.3.3.0.0 for some time and it has been great.
Out of interest, I installed my distro (Fedora 26) version LO
1:5.3.5.2-2 and found it does not recognise the Basic libraries I
created in Dev, although the Writer module has different (newer?)
options in the tool bar. The question is, which version should I be
sticking with? If 1:5.3.5.2, what is the best way of migrating my macro
libraries and dialogs?
Kind regards,
Doug
hello.
for sure, 5.3.5.2 is the last version which is up to date and maybe
the most stable version until now.
you dont need to change anything, or move your current setting to the
newer version of libreoffice.
after you upgrade your version of libreoffice, the settings are
transfered to the newer version without need your action.
hope that help and God bless you.
Assuming that is a typo for LibO 5.3.5, then that would be the more
stable, and bug free version.
If you don't like surprises, then stick with the "still" version, and
only install when the third digit is "3", or higher. IE: 5.3.3, 5.4.3,
6.0.3, etc.
If you can tolerate surprises, but want reasonable stability, then stick
with the fresh version, upgrading only when the third digit is "1", or
higher. IE: 5.4.1, 6.0.1, etc,
If you can tolerate surprises, and don't mind being in the herd, then
install "fresh", when the third digit is "0". IE: 5.4.0, 6.0.0, etc.
If you like living on the bleeding edge, download the nightly builds.
This is only recommended for those who can afford the time it takes to
completely wipe, and the reformat their hard drive, and re-install
everything, because something in the nightly build screwed everything on
their system up.

Hello zahra and thanks for replying.
Everything seems to migrate with the update except for 'My Macros'. I
have both LODev 5.3.3 and LO 5.3.5 installed. While using the
development version, I wrote a lot of code which I put into libraries
under 'My Macros', but the new version does not see them - it has
different libraries, but does not see mine.
I will try exporting libraries and dialogs from the Dev version and
import them into the new version, but I wonder what else may not
migrate properly.
Anyway, thanks for your reply which answered my question. "
Cheers,Doug
